STL Design Week isn't easy to define. Sure, it's all about design, but what does that mean? Well, there's literally someone for everyone and anyone interested in design and St. Louis. The week kicks off with ARTEFFECT. Also on the calendar is DART St. Louis, and update on GOOD Ideas for Cities St. Louis projects, an architecture bike tour of the city and panel discussions (including designing for better civic engagement by yours truly) on Saturday, September 29. So pick out an event, or 10 and enjoy St. Louis Design Week. In addition to the Design Week website, there's now an iPhone app. More details below:
Designed to Engage
A series of events and programs to highlight and celebrate the impact of design in St. Louis while recognizing the efforts and contributions of the emerging and established local designers, architects, illustrators, photographers and others in our creative community.
What
The first STL DesignWeek featured six days and nights of special events, programs and initiatives highlighting the many ways design impacts our lives and communities. Between 200-400 people attended each event, and more than $10,000 was raised for pancreatic cancer research. To build on the momentum of that inaugural event, local organizations have moved their established annual programs to be a part of STL DesignWeek, creating an even greater concentration and representation of St. Louis’ design culture.
