The Green House Venture announced in 2015 for the corner of DeTonty and Lawrence in the Shaw neighborhood took a step forward with the submission of a $3.25M zoning-only building permit on April 20th. The Preservation Board granted preliminary approval to the plan at their Sept 27, 2021 meeting. The 8,000sf education center is focused on urban food production, nutrition, and science education for elementary school students. The facility will be comprised of a greenhouse, classrooms, a small amphitheater and a teaching lab.
