Updated Plans Submitted for AC Hotel in Clayton

Updated Plans Submitted for AC Hotel in Clayton

Developer Homebase Partners has submitted updated documents for a proposed hotel development at 227 S. Central Avenue in Clayton. The property, now under contract, was home to the Clayton Police Department until they moved into a new building back in 2011.

Revised plans show Homebase Partners working with new architect, DLR Group out of Chicago, to design the $43 million, 11 story AC Hotel. The hotel features 207 guest rooms on 9 floors with an express elevator to service the 11th floor meeting room and rooftop lounge.

A modern black and white design features a mixture of stucco and fiber cement panels. The lot is zoned high density commercial and is consistent with the Downtown Master Plan, adopted back in 2010, but a variance for floor area ratio and parking minimums is requested. 138 stalls will be leased in an adjacent garage with many guest expected to use ride services or the adjacent Metrolink station. The new plan goes in front of the Architectural Review Board February 20th.
