First Look: Habitat for Humanity ReStore Opening May 1st

Contractors and volunteers are putting the finishing touches on the new Habitat for Humanity headquarters and ReStore scheduled to open on May 1st. The 51,000 square foot facility at the corner of South Grand and Chippewa will house administrative offices, a conference room large enough to accommodate the organization’s 31 person board, a construction warehouse to support affordable housing projects, and a 20,000 sqft ReStore selling new and reusable construction and home remodeling supplies to the public at discounted prices.

The non-profit acquired the former National grocery store property at 3830 South Grand from Schnucks Markets in a cash deal combined with a partial charitable contribution from Schnucks. Significant contributions for the project were also made by S.M. Wilson, HOK, and Cushman & Wakefield. The new location will open Tuesday, May 1st, and will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 10am-6pm thereafter.
