Byrd & Barrel Plans Expansion with Containerized Outdoor Seating

Byrd & Barrel, the popular fried chicken restaurant located just South of Cherokee Street in Marine Villa is expanding. They’re planning to add an additional 60 seats using three modified 8’x20′ ISO shipping containers repurposed into an outdoor shade structure with two levels. Renderings from V Three Studios show an elevated deck with fabric a canopy on the second level overlooking Jefferson. The structure will initially not have climate control although Byrd & Barrel owner Bob Brazel says that may be added in the future. A conditional use hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 4th. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2018.
