South Grand Great Streets Timeline, Design Set

Changes to South Grand Avenue have been in the works for a couple years now. It appears that the wait will soon be over. The Tower Grove East blog has been the place to go for news on the South Grand Great Streets project. After a trial period using sewer pots, the conversion of thinking by the City of St. Louis and numerous neighborhood meetings, the transformation will officially begin this month.

According to the construction timeline, the east side of the street will be completed first, hopefully by January 2011, with the west side to be done by March. The timeline seems realistic, roughly three weeks per block, given the similar progress seen on Manchester in The Grove.
