New in The Grove: Expansion, Repurposing, Reimagining and Retail

If you follow the Urban Workshop on Twitter (www.twitter.com/urbanworkshp) you’ll likely have seen most of the changes on Manchester Avenue in The Grove. If not, here are the latest spyshots. I’m counting the days until I get a new cell phone and therefore a better camera (will be upgrading to the Blackberry 9700 on T-Mobile, if anyone’s interested).

The neon sign from a bar that previously occupied the space next to what is now the Atomic Cowboy gives the new performance space its name. The building is separated by a narrow gangway and will be connected internally. No word on whether the neon sign will be reinstalled. A variance would be needed to do so.

Paisley is a new women’s clothing store at the southwest corner of Manchester and Tower Grove. The store is the second location for the owner of the Little Blaque Dress around the corner on Tower Grove.

Another clothing retail shop has opened a couple bays east of Sweetie Pies. Unfortunately that’s all I know.

Sancturaria is close to opening in the old Agave spot on Manchester. Some significant aesthetic changes have been made inside. The Grove should be experiencing “Wild Tapas” soon.
