Several years ago a serial arsonist(s?) wrought havoc on several South Side neighborhoods, setting fire to as many as 10 vacant buildings across several neighborhoods. The Benton Park neighborhood saw at least five fires in a short span of time, one of which was at 1904 Withnell.
Yesterday, the owner of 1904 Withnell, Moonlight Partners, LLC, submitted a building permit application valued at $120,000 to rehab the vacant and boarded structure. That permit has not yet been issued. The rehab will turn the two-family building into a single family.
