The Missouri Theater Building, located at 634 N. Grand in Grand Center, may soon be rehabbed into 90+ residential units plus 2-3 floors of commercial space. A $25 million building permit application is on file with the City as of July 8, 2013, subject to approval by Zoning prior to issuance.
The Missouri Theater Building derives its name from a long-demolished theater that once sat behind the property. 634 North Grand once housed the City of St. Louis Health Department. It may now become Grand Center’s last major rehab project (with the Metropolitan Building completed and the Sun Theater rehab underway) and add more residents and vibrancy to the mostly commercial district.
