Is Grand Center’s iconic but empty and deteriorating Sun Theater headed for rehabilitation soon?
It has been rumored for a while that neighborhood newcomer Grand Center Arts Academy would purchase the building for use as a gymnasium and/or performance space for its students.
On October 4, 2012, a $5.5 million building permit for interior and exterior alterations was applied for (and is not yet issued – contingent upon approval from Zoning). The contractor is the Lawrence Group.
