Del Taco Building in Beginning Stages of Makeover
The above St. Louis Beacon article profiles the rehab of the “Del Taco” building, a distinctive former 1960s-era Philips 66 gas station that earned the attention of the region when developer Rick Yackey announced his plans to fell the structure for a traditional suburban strip mall-style building. After an outpouring of support for preservation of the “saucer”, as it is often called, Yackey agreed to rehab it instead of tearing it down. See the article for more details.
