Benton Park Home in Ruins to be Rehabbed? (2924 McNair)

A small Benton Park home missing most of its rear structural elements, located at 2924 McNair, may soon be rehabbed and restored at a cost of $140,000. The current owner is the city’s Land Reutilization Authority (LRA), which does not typically complete a rehabilitation of a property prior to sale. The building may have been sold to a developer with ownership records having not yet been updated. The building permit has not yet been issued.

Below is a photo of the home. At first glance, it may appear fully intact and in fine shape…2924McNair1

But when you view the property from the rear, the extent of the damage is very visible:

As one of Benton Park’s most distressed properties, a rehab here would go a long way to shoring up an already strong neighborhood.
