HeartLands Conservancy has been asked to develop a comprehensive feasibility study, capturing the significance of the Mounds region by demonstrating through economic, natural resources and community protection; it can remain interpretively intact and protect the partially remaining sites. With new transportation access across the Mississippi River to be completed and the eventual rebound of the economy The Mounds area will be under even greater development pressure. More than ever, urgency is of great concern. With over two decades of environmental leadership and community organizing skills under our belt, HeartLands Conservancy is uniquely qualified to develop the necessary reports and bring together community leaders and state and federal agencies in a unified effort towards protecting this national treasure.
